Violinist Evan Flynn is a chamber musician and private teacher in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas. She has performed extensively nationally and internationally, notably with the Illinois Symphony and the Eutiner Festspiele Orchester in assistant principal positions. While studying at the University of Kansas, Ms. Flynn won the Kansas MTNA chamber music competition as a member of the Wakarusa Trio. She has received chamber music training from renowned artists including the Pacifica Quartet, Miami Quartet, Parker Quartet, Arianna Quartet, Jupiter Quartet, and Fry Street Quartet, Frank Almond, and Michael Stern among others, and she has attended festivals including Midwest Young Artists, Madeline Island Chamber Music, and UW-Madison Summer Music. Ms. Flynn owns and performs with Violetta Strings, a chamber music ensemble providing elegant music for weddings and special events in the greater Kansas City area. Ms. Flynn holds Master of Music degrees in Music Theory and Violin Performance from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Her academic interests include synesthesia-based audio and visual arts, music and cognition, and post-tonal theory.
